One huge market filled with seafood… Noryangjin Fish Market. During my time in South Korea I only went there once which is kinda sad. I love seafood but I just didn't have the time to go there, besides that everything is in korean at this market i mean if you want to buy fish or other kinds of seafood you have to at least communicate in korean.
The purpose of our visit was to taste Sannakji with is a dish made with raw octopus. I don't know if you guys have seen videos with Sannakji but it look quite interesting so I wanted to try that before I left Korea.

Ewha International House 2 - 10th floor~
During my exchange stay at Ewha Womans University I had to change rooms once and I moved from 9th floor to 10th floor during the winter vacation time. I was so happy on 9th floor but I got to love 10th floor in the end because of the huge kitchen and the view to Yonsei Univeristy. The lights from the Severance hospital could seriously light up the room even thought the distance and the view to the mountains.
Here is a part of my view from the 10th floor of the International House 2 at Ewha Womans University.

View from My Room at 9th Floor...
In Denmark we don't really have any traditions for building tall buildings with a lot of floors but the trend changed quite a lot in the past few years. In South Korea I don't remember going through a district without noticing any tall buildings. I even lived in one of those tall buildings and yes I'm talking about the International House 2 at Ewha Womans University. In my first semester, I was living in room D909, which was the last room on 9th floor and had a view towards Ewha and Sinchon. I have to admit that this was a really nice view so I wanted to post a picture about it~
This picture was taken during a sunset in october month last year when I was preparing for midterms and needed a distraction. I really miss my days in Seoul!

Halloween~~~
Today is Halloween and I'm actually preparing myself for a lecture later today about The Politics of Mega Events and National Identities in Korea: The 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup so I'm not really feeling Halloween down to my bones today.
Today I've picked a picture from the elevator at the International Dorm 2 at Ewha since the guy on this picture was one of the most entertaining things during the october month inside the elevator. Every time I came back from class it was in different positions and I did of course change the position until the elevator arrived at 9th floor. Koreans doesn't really have a huge tradition for celebrating the Halloween but in our dorms we had a lot of Halloween stuff (Because of the international students, I guess).

Incheon Sky Festival 2013~
During my time in South Korea I went to a lot of concerts and Incheon Sky Festival was one of them. It was a free event for foreigners so I didn't hesitate to attend this festival of K-pop. A lot of K-pop groups performed for hours and even though our seats were far behind we loved the show so much! This is a picture taken during the concert and Nuest was on stage at the time as you can see.
I would definitely recommend you to look at free events (or paid) like these if you want to see as many K-pop groups as possible. KTO is really good at providing informations about cultural events like these so follow their Facebook-page if you want to get news about festivals and other cultural events.

After a couple of weeks without my computer I'm back now. It's been so long since I posted but my computer broke down so I had to get it fixed. I got it back after a couple of weeks and now I'm back to posting pictures from Korea and about Korea. I can also finally start editing my videos from the trip and post them here so you guys can watch the different journeys I've been through during my 354 days in South Korea.

Korean Barbecue
The korean cuisine is one of the most interesting but still unknown cuisines in Asia. The barbecue culture is really huge in South Korea so you can find all kinds of barbecue restaurants close to where you live. From big chains to smaller restaurants and the taste is almost the same. Most of the time you prepare the meat by yourself but if you are a foreigner they will kindly help you too if it's your first time. ^^
So what do you think? Does it look delicious?

Namdaemun at Night~
One of the first places i visited when I arrived to South Korea was Namdaemun. One of my korean friends took us there and we got all fascinated about the beautiful view at night. Namdaemun is actually located in the middle of everything so it feels really not like a tourist attraction but of course when you see it all of sudden you will think "Woah, this is really beautiful!"

Gimpo Airport… Going to the Jeju Island
This is a picture I took while waiting for the plane to depart from Gimpo Airport, Seoul. Jeju air has comfortable flights and one of the most entertaining trips I had in my life was with Jeju air. You're probably asking why? Well simply because the flight attendants were playing rock, scissors, paper or in Korean 가위 바위 보 (kawi, bawi, bo) with the travelers inside the plane. If you ever get the opportunity you should experience the special way of traveling with Jeju air~
Inside of Olympic Hall in Olympic Park to Inifite concert~~~
During my first month in Seoul I went to the Infinite concert. It was the second biggest K-pop experience I've had in Seoul, which was followed by many others. This is the amazing Olympic Hall of Olympic Park where a lot of K-pop concerts are hosted. If you ever get the opportunity to visit Olympic Park while there is a K-pop concert going on you will understand how magnificent this place is~

Making of Korean Traditional Honey Candy…
I filmed this entertaining video for some moths ago while me and my friends were walking around in Insadong. When we came to the shop where they make and sell the Korean Traditional Honey Candy we stopped and they were so kind that they made a demonstration of the making of this candy for Sunny (one of my friends), it was his first time to watch it.
Here is the video~
Video Blog… Whoop Whoop
Hi everyone,
This is Rukiye from My Korean Diary and I have just decided to create a new blog with my videos from Korea. I will make some short descriptions of the videos and sometimes not. The idea with this blog is that it's going to function as a sub-blog for My Korean Diary. Enjoy your stay and remember to spread the word!
